ADULT SOCIAL EVENTS

The Adult Social Committee will run activities/events for adults. This March, we will check out the newest local restaurant, Cancun. Keep an eye out for details on future get togethers.

BABYSITTING CO-OP

This offers a fantastic, cost-effective and easy way to provide childcare to members. Parents have the opportunity to exchange babysitting services amongst themselves at no cost, giving them the opportunity to run errands, go to a hair appointment or just take a little time off while knowing that their children are well cared for by other members of Newcomers.

The co-op will be based on a points system. Families will sign up to participate and are given a certain number of points to start. They "spend" points when someone else watches their children and "earn" points by babysitting for others.

BOOK CLUB

Do you love to read? Then this is the group for you. This group will meet every other month at rotating members’ homes to discuss books, suggest future reads and just enjoy each other’s company.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

This is great way to meet new people while working together in activities that benefit the community. This year we will be volunteering our services as a group to assist in the first annual Kingston Festival Of The Arts. Have a community project in mind? Please contact us to share the details.

FAMILY / CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

The Family Social Committee will run activities centered around children. This spring we will head out to the local Fire Department for a tour and welcome in spring with a Nature Walk / Scavenger Hunt for ALL ages.

FUNDRAISING

The Fundraising Committee will plan events during the year to raise money for charitable donations. This year we will hold various fund raising events including a Family Photo Day – keep an eye out for the date.

LADIES’ NIGHT OUT

Do you need some time off for just yourself? This group will be for you! We are planning a night out at Expressions in Duxbury for pottery painting or jewelry making as well as a SPARTY night where we will enjoy good wine and pedicures.

MEN'S EVENTS

Let's not forget our better halves, so if they are interested in activities with other men please let us know! Possibilities: Golf, tennis, poker night…

PLAYGROUPS

The Newcomers & Neighbors will host a playgroup the first Friday of every month. See calendar of events for monthly locations. We are also in the process of forming a new mom’s playgroup for mothers with children up to 2 years of age. This is a great way to chat with other mother’s and share stories and advise.

TENNIS

Do you like to play? Are you working on your game? Let’s set up some court time. Singles, doubles, men, women – all levels welcome.
